Foot Pain in the Morning?

foot-pain     Post static dyskinesia is the condition in which a particular body part gets onset of pain when one first starts to move or use it after a period of rest.

In the realm of podiatry post-static dyskinesia is often associated with heel pain.  It typically presents with hell or arch pain with the first steps in the morning or with the first steps after a period of resting.  This phenomenon comes about because during the night, the muscles and tendons of the feet are in a relaxed state.

Upon stepping down, the muscles and tensons must stretch, and this leads to the onset of pain.  After a few steps the pain generally subsides because the muscles and tendons have had an opportunity to stretch out.

Patients who experience this condition can get relief by stretching the arch ahead of time.  Stretching allows the tendons and muscles to “warm up.”
